New Years Resolution: October

It's October 1st and I'm just about to leave for the Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal play at home (again!). Watching Arsenal for me is like buses. You wait for one for ages then two come along all at once. I went on Monday night and watched them beat West Brom 2-0. I literally love watching sport live, you just cannot beat it. When I watch football, i seem to turn into a bit of a geek. I really like to watch the warm up and compare notes and also look at what football midfielders do compared to hockey midfielders. I definitely think there are comparisons between the two sports. The biggest thing I look for is finding space in the midfield to receive the ball and then how to go forward.

I spent September very, very far away from any hockey pitch and loved it. I went to Bali for 2 weeks and came back totally physically and mentally refreshed ready to start training again towards the Hockey World League Finals in New Zealand in November. I managed to keep Septembers New Years Resolution (click here) too. Writing a sentence a day wasn't too time consuming and is just a nice little way to help me remember my movements through life.

Because I've been a bit here, there and everywhere for the last 3-4 months with tournaments away and moving house, I've kind of fallen out of any routine I had before. Octobers New Years Resolution will aim to amend this.

October's goal is simple and small.

To work more on my PT qualification.

I started studying for a personal training qualification earlier this year as it's something I might like to do in the future. It was also going to help me create a good balance in my life and ensure hockey wouldn't take over my whole brain space! I've really enjoyed the work I've done and just need that little bit of a push to get back into it. Hopefully this will do the trick!
